We got two of these for our daughters, the same size for age 6 and 9. It works very well for both girls. Gears were very easy for them to learn. Changing gears up takes some hand strength and is a bit hard, but they are learning. They did not come with water bottle holders- we actually got confused and thought the Derailler Guard was the bottle holder!! Regardless of these details, the bikes are fantastic- even our six year old who only just learned to ride bikes caught on within an hour of practice and loves it. Lightweight and easy for them to handle. All the parts are in excellent condition and the bikes are easy to assemble and very well packaged. Great choice for kids!
The worst directions I have ever seen in my entire life.
BEWARE... the directions are in no order and not specific to the bike. Each item explains that this may not apply to the bike YOU ordered but in case it does... and lists some odd direction.
The list of parts are labeled by number on one page yet by letter when the directions begin.
There are also directions that explain to do something with one part before that part was even constructed!
Yikes! At this point I’m worried the bike will fall apart because letter A wasn’t put with number x and letter 12!
So this is a Fantastic Bike! There are lots of pieces, so we paid a bike shop to put it together. (Worth the $50 extra dollars) the gears work smoothly and the breaks work perfect. If you are not skilled at bike assembly, then I would recommend you find someone who is.
The bike came with all the tools needed to assemble, and the included instructional video made assembly a breeze. I bought the 20" bike for my child and it looks very nice and rides well. The 6-speed shifter is a little tight on the ends for the little hand but operates well between gears 2-5.
While the paint is of good color, it seems to be very thin. I peeled off the white barcode sticker and it took off a big piece of paint with it. Now I need to find some touch-up paint to seal off the steel from the environment before it rusts...
